So what does this have to do with your emotional health?
Well my book is both a holistic wellness guide to help you achieve and sustain your best health AND a memoir that weaves in stories from my own personal health journey as well as my professional experience as a medical doctor.
And what I have experienced and witnessed time and time again is how much of an impact our emotional well-being (or lack there-of) has on our physical well-being and overall state of health.
So much so that I dedicated an entire chapter of the book on the subject of emotional health. I share about how finally facing, honoring, and then releasing my emotions, was vital for me self-healing from depression but also from more “physical health issues” like weight struggles and asthma.
So this month’s take home/bottom line offering is that as you work on up-leveling your health, to take a look at your EMOTIONAL HEALTH as a key link in the chain of your optimal well-being. Just the way you think about improving your diet, or starting a better work-out regimen, ask yourself :
“Am I in touch with how I truly feel about different aspects of my life?”
“How am I dealing/coping with my emotions?,”
and
“Do I cope with them in a healthy or in a harmful way?”
Beginning to explore these questions and from that, improving your relationship with your emotions, might be the missing and needed action to take your health and happiness to new unimagined heights.
