Favorite Links— Dec 2016 edition
The tradition continues! In lieu of the standard article, quiz, and dance link, December’s edition of Performing Healing contains a list of my favorite links this season, as well as of course, a dose of dance.
For this December edition, I’ve included four links as well as a link to one of my recent poemdances for your enjoyment.
Music is one of my very favorite things and the first two links are to music. This great being passed on early this very year and his recording of this song (along with Nina Simone’s) is one of my favorite renditions. The second link is to Ms Simone’s rendition. They are both that good. The third link is to a video I did recently on my You Tube channel about my morning rituals. Years back, I struggled a lot with depression and a significant aspect of healing that was creating and consistently engaging in a series of morning practices that ground and center me. I hope you find the video useful! Finally the last link is to Brené Brown’s TED talk on the power of vulnerability. Just in case you haven’t seen it. I’ve re-watched it every year since she shared her mind-shifting perspectives around empathy, shame, and authenticity.
Happy holidays! Much joy, peace, and health to you.
